How Do I Create a Text Table in FrontPage? This is a function that is helpful, for it creates an anchor for your text so that it will appear in the same format in almost all applications such as Explorer, NetScape, and other similar web browsers. 1. Open FrontPage (If the screen appears with writing or graphics already on it, locate the icon in the top left corner that looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner and click it. This will create a new page.) 2. Locate Table in the menu bar across the top and move the mouse to it and click. 3. A pull down menu will appear and move the mouse to insert. (Another pull down menu will appear to the right.) 4. Move the mouse to table and click on it. (A separate window will then open with the heading of Insert Table.) 5. You can now control the settings of the table….
The following instructions will allow you to create a table to a preset layout. 6. At the top of the window you have the ability to set the number of cells in the table. (Rows will divide the table from left to right and columns divide it from top to bottom.) 7. Set the Rows to ( 1 ) and the columns to ( 1 ). (The Next Section of the Window will allow you to control the layout) 8. Alignment is the positioning of the table on the document. (Your options are Default, Left, Right, or Center.) 9. Change the alignment to Center by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the box and moving the cursor to Center. 10. (The Next Menu allows you to set the border size) 11. This controls the outline of the border and how thick it will be displayed. (The border can range from 0 to 100.) 12. Change the border size to 5 by clicking on the up arrow to the right of the border window. (The Next Menu allows you to set the Cell padding.) 13. This controls the indentation of the text on all sides within the cell. (The padding can range from 0 to 100.) 14. Change the padding to 5 by clicking on the up arrow to the right of the border window. (The next Menu allows you to set the Cell Spacing.) 15. This controls the spacing of the cells between one another in the table. (The spacing can range from 0 to 100.) 16. Change the spacing to 5 by clicking on the up arrow to the right of the border window. 17. Then click on the Ok button in the bottom right corner of the window to create your table. (The remainder of the options should be left as is until you are more familiar with the FrontPage application.) To change the color of your table, follow the instructions below. 1. Move the mouse cursor over the newly created table in any location and click the right mouse button this will open a menu bar. 2. Move the mouse cursor down to Table Properties and click it.
3. This will open another window titled Table Properties. (This menu you will allow you to change some of the options that you have already set as well as change some new ones.) 4. Under the Border heading change the color to a green. (This will change the lines of the border to a green.) 5. The move down to the back ground heading. (This will allow you to change the color inside the table and its cells.) 6. Under the Background Heading click on the down arrow next to the color box this will display all the generic colors and select yellow. 7. Click on the “Ok” button in the bottom right corner to view your created table. 8. Now return to your table click on it so the cursor appears and type “This is the text table I created” and then save it.
