The 5-9 English Education Program is ideal to pair with the Elementary Education Program, or to afford a second teaching field in Secondary Education or middle school program. Such a pairing offers education graduates versatility and flexibility in the job market.

 

General Studies Requirements: 47 hrs.

Required Specialized Courses: 24 hrs.

  • ENGL 313 Literature in English since 1900 [Both courses are recommended for 5-9 teaching proficiency.] (3)

ENGL 370 Structure and Evolution of English OR
