Department of Music to present music composition recital April 21

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Department of Music will present a concert featuring student composers’ work Monday, April 21 at 3:15 p.m. in the Frank Center’s McCoy Rehearsal Hall.

The recital will highlight a variety of completed works and works in progress by the student composers. They include “Air For Violin and Piano” by Natalie Ahearn featuring Ian Karraker on violin and the composer at the piano; “In Visions” by Ryan Stewart performed by the Men’s Choir; “Introspection No. 2” by Louise Campbell and playing on marimba; “13 Across” by Ian Karraker; “Saxaphone Quartet Movement 1” by Anthony Farris with Matt Lind on soprano sax, Hansu Sung on alto sax, Will Lopez on tenor sax, and Wayne Hawkins on baritone sax; “Prometheus” by Greg Woodward featuring baritone Andrew Seaman and pianist Nathan Arch; and “String Quartet no. 2, Movements I and III” by John Tyler Arnold performed by violinists Ryan Stewart and Ian Karraker, Adrielle Mills on viola, and Liz Traversie on cello.
