David Loy

David Loy holds the BA in music performance(piano) from Elon University and an MM in choral conducting from the  University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Additional graduate course work has been done at the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 
In addition to his duties at Shepherd University, he is Staff Accompanist at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is an adjunct faculty member at Frederick Community College teaching voice and piano. He is Organist and Director of Music at both Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Maryland and Congregation B’Nai Abraham (reform Jewish Synagogue) in Hagerstown, Maryland. He maintains a private studio of voice and piano students in both the Hagerstown and Frederick Maryland areas. Many of his students have received high ratings in adjudications at piano and vocal festivals. 
He is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, American Guild of Organists, National Association of Teachers of Singing and the American Choral Directors Association.
He is Past Dean of the Cumberland Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and past Vice President of the Frederick County Music Teachers Association. He has also prepared students to enter the Maryland State Music Theory for several years.
