Shepherd assessment data is now being stored entirely online in the newly acquired online software program, WEAVE. Many of those who handle the assessment data for their department or unit have learned to use the online software and report satisfaction with its ease-of-use and intuitive structure. If you are interested in uploading your own assessment information into WEAVE, please contact Shannon or Laura at x5461 today to learn how to use this system. If you prefer not to use it yourself, just send in your assessment plan either hard copy or electronically to email@example.com and we will upload the information into WEAVE for you.
Collegiate Learning Assessment Test (CLA)
Use of the nationally recognized Collegiate Learning Assessment test (CLA) continued this spring with 79 graduating seniors students participating in the online exam. Designed to measure critical thinking, the exam is given to incoming freshmen each fall and graduating seniors each spring. Over time, these results chart the value-added by our institution and allow us to compare results with other schools state- and nationwide. Results from the most recent testing cycle will be available in August of 2012. Detailed reports of assessment results can be found on our website at: http://www.shepherd.edu/ctl/standardized_assess_measures.html.
Congratulations are due to our Assessment Professional Development Drawing Winners this spring: Georgiann Toole, Stephanie Slocum-Schaffer and Jim Sweeney. Thank you for the timely reports and for your commitment to assessing learning at Shepherd University!
