First Things First
Your Rambler Card will be your official Shepherd University identification. It is needed for access to University facilities and to take books out of the library. Your Rambler Card can also be used as a “declining balance” debit account used for library copiers, printers and a variety of other places on campus.
Human Resources Information
Make sure to fill out an I-9 form when you arrive to campus. This must be signed in front of someone in the HR office. Please see the back of the I-9 form for a list of proper identification needed.
New Faculty Checklist (Keys, Mail, Copies — know where to go!)
RAVE Alert Text Messaging System
Shepherd University has teamed-up with Rave Wireless Inc. to offer a text-messaging notification system. Emergency communications from the University, including inclement weather announcements, will be sent as a text message to those who opt into the plan. Please note that school closures and emergency announcements will be the only notices sent to participants. Additional notices may be available in the future (i.e., reminders for school and group events, etc.), but the participants will have the choice of opting into receiving these notices.
Putting Together Your Syllabus: Practical Information
Make sure to check with your department chair to see if there is a common text used in your course or if a text has already been ordered.
Detailed Syllabus Examples
For further course-specific information about your syllabus please consult your department chair. The number of credit hours for your course needs to be listed on your syllabus as well as all of your course learning outcomes. Your course description must match the description of the course that is in the catalog.
