Shepherd College to sponsor fiction writing contest

(Shepherd College to sponsor fiction writing contest)
Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd College will
sponsor its first fiction writing contest. The contest is open to published
and unpublished writers. Any category of literary and genre fiction is
eligible including paranormal, time travel, fantasy, futuristic, science
fiction, romance, children and young adult, mystery and suspense, western,
adventure, and horror.
The fee to enter the contest is $30 for a maximum of 20 pages of
prologue/first chapter of a manuscript. Published authors must not have been
published since 1996 in book-length fiction in the genre submitted. All
entries must be postmarked by April 15. Cash prizes and Shepherd College
memorabilia will be awarded to first, second, and third prize winners at an
awards dinner on Saturday, June 5. There will also be five honorable mention
awards and certificates.
