TO: Shepherd University Community The Board of Governors has established a Presidential Search Committee, which I am chairing. While hiring a new president is ultimately the responsibility of the Board of Governors, everyone in the Shepherd community has a stake in the success of the search and your input is important. We want to involve the campus community as much as possible in the search, early on in the process. Our first task as a Search Committee is to formulate a Statement of Characteristics and Qualities for the next president of the University. We are inviting Shepherd University constituents to meet with members of the Search Committee on Wednesday, September 27 to describe characteristics and qualities that they think the next president should possess. We will do our best to collect your ideas and incorporate some of those thoughts, as appropriate, into the materials that will be given to all candidates. Please join us in the Center for Legislative Studies Auditorium at the time designated below for your constituent group. We look forward to hearing your comments. 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Deans and Chairs of Academic Departments 10:50 a.m.-11:40 a.m. Classified Employees 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Students 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Faculty 2:05 p.m.-2:50 p.m. Administrative Council 2:55 p.m.-3:40 p.m. Open session for employees not attending earlier sessions 3:45 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Alumni and Community Members In the event that you are not able to attend your constituency meeting, you are invited to submit your comments to the Search Committee by using BOGChair@shepherd.edu.
