NON-CLASSIFIED SALARY POLICY UPDATE
The Guidelines adopted by the Policy Commission relating to salary increases require that, effective July 1, 2004 (FY ı05), non-classified staff salary increases must be based primarily on Merit Pay. In order to implement a merit pay policy fairly, it is important that the covered employees be advised of the criteria and processes by which ³merit² will be assessed, prior to the beginning of the period of observation.
The President has asked Dr. Starliper to chair a working group which will develop a draft salary policy which will meet the Policy Commissionıs mandate. It is anticipated that the Presidentıs proposals on FY ı05 non-classified staff salary policy will be presented to the Board for review in conjunction with the proposed Faculty Salary Policy.
