SUBJECT: Notice of Possible Amendment of Board of Governors Policies

Pursuant to Policy One of the Board of Governors, I hereby give notice that the University contemplates the prospect of amending Board Policies 1-27. It is contemplated that many, but not all, of the changes will be limited to updating the policies to reflect university-status and to reflect the separation of the community and technical college.

Pursuant to Policy One of the Board of Governors, I hereby give further notice that the University contemplates the prospect of initiating new polices relating to Personnel Policies and Student Academic Policies.

You are invited to submit comments or suggestions to me in writing at any time prior to the close of business on December 1, 2005, after which date we will begin developing a draft policy for each of these matters, all of which would be distributed for further comment during the coming months. We hope that the BOG will be able to finalize policies in most of these areas by May.

A copy of this notice will also be posted on the Board¹s web page and will be available for anyone to obtain from my office.
