Dr. Meg Galligan 

            Dr. Meg Galligan served as chair of the Department of Business Administration at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia during the 2006-2007 Academic Year. Shepherd is one of the State of West Virginia’s former teacher-training institutions, founded in 1872.  Dr. Galligan’s primary teaching responsibilities are in the areas of marketing and business ethics.  Her major research focus is on leadership development in single-sex environments.  Her community service endeavors are related to specialized accreditation both internal and external to the University.

            Prior to joining Shepherd, Dr. Galligan was a full-time faculty member at Penn State University, Mont Alto Campus in south-central Pennsylvania where she delivered courses in marketing, management and finance.  During her 11 years at Penn State, she was a member of the Penn State Faculty Senate for seven of those years.

            Dr. Galligan has been married to Charles Stevens since 1970 and is the mother of a son, Donald, 30, and a daughter, Alice, 29, both lawyers.  Her interests include socializing with World War II veterans, participating in national research studies on memory in the elderly and breast cancer.
