SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Tom Miller and Fred Kerns of Smallwood and Small Insurance presented Shepherd University President Mary J.C. Hendrix with a donation in support of the Shepherd athletics program. Miller and Kerns have joined a first-of-its-kind partnership with Shepherd for naming rights of the Smallwood and Small Pavilion overlooking Ram Stadium. The check presentation was made June 29 during a Boeing C17 flight over West Virginia, which was part of the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) annual Martinsburg Area Bosslift.
Participating in the check presentation along with Miller, Kerns, and Hendrix were Douglas Smith, senior vice president of Erie Insurance Group; Timothy Necastro, president and CEO of Erie Insurance Group; Chauncey Winbush, vice president for athletics at Shepherd; and Sherri Janelle, executive director of development for the Shepherd University Foundation.
