The purpose of ACCUPLACER tests is to provide you with useful information about your academic skills in math and English. Academic advisors use the ACCUPLACER assessment results, together with your academic background, goals and interests, to determine whether your course selection should include stretch-model math or English courses. Please note: the ACCUPLACER scores do not indicate which other level math or English a student should take.

You cannot "pass" or "fail" the ACCUPLACER test, but it is very important that you do your very best on these tests so that you will have an accurate measure of your current academic skills.

The Academic Support Center offers ACCUPLACER tests on a regular basis for a $20 testing fee. The $20 is accepted either in the form of exact cash or a personal check CREDIT CARDS NOT ACCEPTED. The testing fee must be given the day of the test and before the test is administered. Students must contact the center at 304-876-5221 to schedule their testing appointment. Scores and placement counseling are available following the test.
