Teaches: Typography, Graphic Design 1, Digital Studio 1, Interactive Design, Advanced Design and other design related courses.
Kristin Kaineg graduated from Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a MFA degree in Graphic and Interactive Design and from American University with a BA in Graphic Design. She came to Shepherd in 2005 from The University of North Carolina Charlotte where she taught interactive media, graphic design, and managed the computer lab.
She coordinates the Graphic Design concentration, manages the Frank Center computer lab and teaches a variety of courses from Typography to Advanced Design and Interactive Design. She is an active AIGA member and currently sits as the Director of Membership for the BlueRidge Chapter. Kristin is the founder and coordinator of the Flux Sudent Design Competition, a national juried exhibition for design students.
Over the past ten years, she has worked for a variety of businesses and organizations such as NPR, AOL, Fig Leaf Software, The Washington Post, National Trust for Historic Preservation and Public Campaign. Throughout this experience, she was responsible for the design direction and development of corporate identity campaigns, direct mail, web sites, brochures, newsletters and packaging. Today, she continues to run her own freelance practice designing for small businesses and non-profit organizations.
