Teaches: Survey History of Western Art, Visual Thinking 1 and Art Education courses.

Jodi Patterson comes to Shepherd University from Mid-Michigan – and varied points in between. She is an interdisciplinary artist – using scholarship, world travel, research and serendipitous opportunity to inform her practice. Jodi has exhibited her work consistently since 1989 in venues ranging from one-person museum shows to head-shop extravaganzas. She has written extensively on the subject of progressive models of  art education and has been published in peer-review journals, text-books, national glossy magazines, chap books and is the author of the “ArtTeacher” book series.

As a teacher Jodi has labored in varied (sometimes scary) venues from Michigan to Florida and recently left Wayne State University, where for the past four years, she taught graduate-level art education courses. She’s also taught online courses for the Art Institutes Online.

Degrees:  Bachelor of Science in Art Education and Political Science, and a Master of Art in Painting both from Central Michigan University; Master of Fine Art in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College, Plainfield, VT.
