Beckie Mirsch Laughlin

Adjunct Instructor of Art: teaches Introduction to Visual Art

Ms. Laughlin has been teaching at Shepherd U. since the Spring 2005. She also teaches workshops in creativity at area art centers and at the New Moon Studio, in New Market, Maryland. In the 1970’s Ms Laughlin was Chairperson of the Art Department at Frederick High School in Frederick, Maryland. Beckie has been exhibiting her artwork in solo and group exhbitions since 1974 in venues such as School 33 art Center, the Delaplaine Visual Art Education Center, McDaniel College, and Shepherd U. Throughout the years she has also exhibited charcoal drawings, assemblages as well as experimental films. Her work is in corporate collections including the National Education Testing Corp.in Princeton, New Jersey. Ms. Laughlin received her MFA in Painting at American University in 1973 and in 1971 received a BA in Art Education from American University.
