PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS (Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Veterinary, Pre-Law, Pre-Theological) Shepherd provides students with opportunities to begin their undergraduate University preparation leading toward certain career professions. Students must eventually make application to and successfully complete the terminal training provided by a special professional or graduate school or university elsewhere. Students who want a pre-professional program (pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-veterinary medicine, pre-theological studies, or pre-law) are assigned a major in Biology or Chemistry for medical programs, Political Science for law, History or English for Theological studies. It is essential that such students have a declared major and be enrolled in a program that leads directly to a degree so that they will be eligible for Federal financial aid. For information students should check with their advisor and/or Department Chair in their major field of study. Further information can also be obtained from Dr. Colleen Nolan, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics. (304) 876-5106. |
