(SHIPPENSBURG, PA) -- Matt Meadows (Hampshire/Romney, WV) picked off a Shippensburg fourth down pass in the end zone with 14 seconds left in the game to preserve a 17-10 win for Shepherd in the season opener for both schools at Shippensburg.
Senior quarterback Joel Gordon (Waynesboro/ Waynesboro, VA) completed 16-of-27 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver Jamal Gardner (Robert E. Lee/Staunton, VA) led the Ram receiving corps with six receptions for 79 yards, including a game-winning 15-yard touchdown catch with just over five minutes left in the game.
