BLOOMSBURG, PA -- The Shepherd College men's tennis team travelled way up into Pennsylvania to battle against 15 of the top teams in the Northeast. What they came away with was an eighth place showing and some valuable experience.
"This tournament was a terrific gauge for us to see how we compare with the best Division II teams out of the East region," said Coach Chris Stambaugh of his Ram squad. "Basically, the top 8 or 10 teams out of a region get to move on to nationals in April and May. And Shepherd hasn't been ranked in the last ten years. So I'm very happy with an eighth place showing."
The seven teams leading Shepherd going into Monday's final round were, in order, Assumption, Kutztown, Bloomsburg, Dowling, Queens College, Millersville, and Franklin Pierce.
