(BUCKHANNON, WV) -- Luke Struble rushed for 94 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries to lead West Virginia Wesleyan to a 34-14 win over Shepherd in WVIAC football action on Saturday at Cebe Ross Field.

Struble gave the Bobcats a 7-0 lead on a three-yard plunge with 14:30 left in the second quarter.

Shepherd closed the gap to 7-6 when junior running back Alex Herbert (Monrovia, MD/Urbana HS) stumbled, regained his balance, and then outraced the Wesleyan defense for a 68-yard score with 11:00 left in the second quarter. Herbert rushed for a game-high 113 yards on 12 carries.

Wesleyan took a 14-6 lead into intermission when Bobcat quarterback Marc Kimes teamed with tight end Chris Burgman on a 13-yard scoring play.

Struble opened the scoring in the second half when he scored on a one-yard run to give Wesleyan a 21-6 advantage with 2:48 left in the third quarter.

Shepherd cut the lead to 21-14 when junior wide receiver Jesse Correll (Port Republic, MD/Calvert HS) scored on a 22-yard reverse. Redshirt-freshman quarterback Dan Chlebowski (Greencastle, PA/ Greencastle-Antrim HS) teamed with sophomore wide receiver John Dominguez (Woodbridge, VA/Potomac HS) for the two-point conversion.

Struble added a pair of fourth quarter touchdown runs of one and two yards to seal the win for the Bobcats.

Chlebowski completed 9-of-22 passes for 115 yards. Correll was the game's top receiver with five receptions for 82 yards.

The Shepherd defense was led by junior linebacker Demar Atwood (Frederick, MD/ Thomas Johnson HS) with a game-high 14 tackles. Senior defensive back Matt Meadows (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) and sophomore defensive back Dustin Dudinski (Woodbridge, VA/Park View HS) each had interceptions.

Shepherd falls to 3-5, 3-2 in conference play, while Wesleyan improves to 7-2, 5-0.

The Rams will travel to Concord next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game.
