(SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV) -- Travis Lynch (Frankfort/Ridgeley, WV) rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries to lead Shepherd to a 48-14 win over West Virginia State at Ram Stadium on Saturday.
Junior quarterback Joel Gordon (Waynesboro/ Waynesboro, VA) completed 18-of-29 passes for 213 yards and a pair of scores. Senior wide receiver Jason Dirting (Martinsburg/ Martinsburg, WV) led all Ram receivers with six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown. Freshman wide receiver Jamal Gardner (Robert E. Lee/Staunton, VA) added four receptions for 81 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown catch.
Junior linebacker Luke Benchoff (Williamsport/Williamsport, MD) lead all Ram tacklers with nine tackles. Freshman outside linebacker Ron Frazier (Gaithersburg/Gaithersburg, MD) added seven stops, including two tackles-for-loss. He also had an interception and a pass breakup.
