SHEPHERD DROPS HEARTBREAKER, 1-0

BUCKHANNON, WV -- Shellie Cotton's unassisted goal at the 34:00 minute lifted West Virginia Wesleyan to a 1-0 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC women's soccer quarterfinal action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday.

Freshman Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded four saves in goal for the Rams, while Whitney Hyre had recorded the shutout without any saves for Wesleyan.

Shepherd completes its season with a 9-9 overall mark. The nine wins equal the Ram single season mark set in 2003. The Bobcats (7-11-2) advance to semifinal action.
