SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. --Freshman Laura Cavey's unassisted goal with 31:28 remaining in the game lifted Western Maryland College to a 2-1 victory over Shepherd College in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore forward Chrissy Murphy (South Carroll/Woodbine, MD) gave the Rams a 1-0 lead in the first half on an unassisted goal at the 38:33 mark.
The Green Terror tied the score at 1-1 with 35:13 remaining in the second half when Lauren Cramer scored on a feed from Melissa Merson.
Sophomore goalie Amy Ridgely (Westminster/Westminster, MD) recorded a season-high 16 saves for the Rams, while Candy Kuglikowski had four saves for Western Maryland.
Shepherd falls to 0-3 on the year, while Western Maryland improves to 2-3.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Columbia Union for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
