WHEELING, W.Va. -- Wheeling Jesuit, ranked 19th among Division II schools, handed Shepherd a 7-1 loss in first round action of the WVIAC Women's Soccer Tournament at Wheeling.
Lauren Boryenace and Kelly Murdock recorded two goals each to lead the Lady Cardinals. Katie Reinhart, Brianne Basilone and Joana da Silva added single tallies.
Shepherd's only goal came on a penalty kick from Theresa Ryan (Loch Raven/Baltimore, MD) in the second half.
Amy Ridgely (Westminster/Westminster, MD) recorded three saves in goal for the Rams, while Tina Dengler had a pair of saves for Wheeling Jesuit.
The Lady Cardinals improve to 15-2-1 overall, while Shepherd completes its season with a 4-17 record.
