WILMINGTON SHUTS DOWN SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Wilmington College defeated Shepherd University, 3-0, in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Wilmington took a 1-0 lead into intermission when Melissa Samio scored on an assist from Katie Mazzio at the 27:00 mark.

The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead at the 50:00 mark on a penalty kick off the foot of Colby Bugda. Minutes later Bugda assisted on a goal by Christina Coccia for the game's final tally.

Freshman Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded three saves in goal for the Rams, while Chrissy Bevenour had four saves in a shutout effort for Wilmington.

Shepherd drops to 8-8 on the season. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Bloomfield for a 3:00 contest in the regular season finale.
