CHARLESTON ENDS SHEPHERD SEASON

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Arin Ingraham scored a goal and assisted on two others to lead University of Charleston to a 3-1 win over Shepherd College in first round action of the WVIAC Women's Soccer Tournament at Charleston.

Charleston opened the scoring when Emily Swissheim scored on a feed from Ingraham at the 7:00 mark.

The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 lead at the 13:30 mark when Brittany Elkins scored on another assist from Ingraham.

Shepherd cut the lead to 2-1 at the 32:00 mark when senior co-captain Theresa Ryan (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven HS) scored an unassisted goal.

Ingraham added an insurance goal on an unassisted tally at the 35:00 mark to seal the win for Charleston.

Senior Amy Ridgely (Westminster, MD/Westminster HS) recorded six saves in goal for the Rams. Kelly Borck had three saves for Charleston.

Shepherd completes its season with a 9-11 record. Charleston, the fourth seed, advances to face #1 seed West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday.

Notes: Shepherd completed the most successful season in program history. The Rams set new single season team marks for wins (9), goals (77), and shutouts (4).
