SHEPHERD WOMEN FALL TO CHARLESTON

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Emily Swissheim scored three goals and assisted on another to lead University of Charleston to a 4-2 win over Shepherd University in women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.

Shepherd scored at the 5:00 mark when freshman forward Whitney Reed (Woodbridge, VA/C.D. Hylton) scored on a feed from sophomore forward Kellie Wagner (Winchester, VA/Sherando).

Junior defender/midfielder Lauren Kinnear (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) scored Shepherd's other goal at the 15:00 mark on an assist from senior midfielder Dana Kaufman (Hammonton, NJ/Oakcrest).

Taryn Conklin also added a goal for Charleston.

Shepherd goalie Amy Bell (New Market, MD/Linganore) recorded three saves for the Rams, while Whitney Sharp had four saves for the Golden Eagles.

Shepherd falls to 5-7-0, 0-2-0 in conference play, while Charleston improves to 3-5-1, 2-1-0. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shenandoah for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
