CHARLESTON RALLIES PAST SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va -- University of Charleston rallied past Shepherd College for a 4-2 win in WVIAC women's soccer action at Charleston on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead on a Jessica Meger goal early in the first half.

Shepherd took a 2-1 lead at half behind goals by Ashley Gossert (Keedysville, MD/ Hagerstown CC) and Erin Wilkinson (Fairfax Station, VA/W.T. Woodson HS).

Amy Vagnoni (Westminster, MD/Westminster HS) assisted on Gossert's score, while Theresa Ryan (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven HS) assisted Wilkinson's tally.

Morgan Church scored two goals and Britanny Elkins added another in the second half to lift Charleston to victory.

Amy Ridgely (Westminster, MD/ Westminster HS) recorded five saves in goal for the Rams, while Kelly Borck stopped three shots for Charleston.

Shepherd falls to 2-5-0 overall, 0-2-0 in conference action.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. conference matchup.
