WINCHESTER, Va. -- Shepherd College erupted for seven first half goals en route to an 11-0 win over Shenandoah University in women's soccer action at Shenandoah on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Chrissy Murphy (South Carroll/Woodbine, MD) gave the Rams a 1-0 lead at the 6:26 mark on a feed from sophomore Amy Vagnoni (Westminster/Westminster, MD).
The Rams added six more first half goal to gain a 7-0 advantage at the intermission.
Shepherd outshot Shenandoah 20-3, and added four second half goals for the 11-0 win.
Junior Kelly Cooper (Westminster/Westminster, MD) recorded two goals and an assist, while junior Heather Everhart (Loudoun Valley/Purcellville, VA) and freshman Carrie Crogan (Urbana/Adamstown, MD) also had two goals apiece.
Sophomores Amanda Hartman (Westminster/Finksburg, MD), Jennifer Fortney (Broad Run/Ashburn, VA), and Theresa Ryan (Loch Raven/Baltimore, MD) each tallied single goals along with Murphy and Vagnoni.
Sophomore Stephanie Hepperle (Smithsburg/Hagerstown, MD) paced the Rams with a pair of assists.
Shepherd improves to 2-6, while Shenandoah falls to 1-9.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Concord for a 4:00 p.m. contest at Ram Stadium.
