SALEM INTERNATIONAL DOWNS SHEPHERD, 2-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Salem International University scored two goals over a nine-minute span en route to a 2-0 win over Shepherd University in women's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.

Salem opened the scoring at the 30:00 mark when Ashley Cox scored on an unassisted goal. Laura Toot scored an unassisted tally at the 39:00 mark to account for the final goal.

Emily Dean had two saves in goal for Salem International, while freshman goalkeeper Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded six saves for the Rams.

Shepherd falls to 1-2 overall, 0-1 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host University of Charleston for a 1:00 p.m. match.
