RAMS SET RECORD WITH 20-0 WIN OVER OVC

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV --Shepherd University set a new single game scoring mark with a 20-0 win over Ohio Valley College in WVIAC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.

Senior forward Maria Brown (Washington, DC/Elizabeth Seton HS) scored three goals to pace the Rams. Other standout performances were turned in by senior forward Erin Wilkinson (Fairfax Station, VA/ W.T. Woodson HS) (2 goals, 1 assist), sophomore midfielder Nicole Willett (Manassas, VA/Osbourn HS) (2 goals 2 assists), junior forward Ashley Gossert (Keedysville, MD/Hagerstown CC) (2 goals), and freshman defender Brittany Sweeney (Rockville, MD/Magruder HS) (2 goals).

Freshman defender/midfielder Amanda Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park HS) added a goal and tied a school single game mark (Sarah Bryan vs. Columbia Union in 2003) with four assists. Sophomore forward Jamie Barthelemy (Leesburg, VA/Stone Bridge HS) and sophomore midfielder Tara Roberts (Knoxville, MD) each added a goal and three assists.

Freshman Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded one save in goal in 45 minutes of action for the Rams. Sophomore Katie Moore (Shenanadoah Junction, WV/Jefferson HS) worked the final 45 minutes in her first action of the year in goal for Shepherd. Mary France had 13 saves for the Fighting Scots.

Shepherd improves to 5-4, 3-1 in WVIAC action, while Ohio Valley falls to 0-7, 0-3. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
