SHEPHERD WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO 25TH-RANKED MERCYHURST ERIE, Pa. -- Taylor Hilinski scored a pair of goals and Maria Amicone added two assists to lead 25th-ranked Mercyhurst to a 5-0 win over Shepherd University in women's soccer action at Mercyhurst on Saturday. Lisa Casemant, Sarah Powell, and Lisa Melander each added goals for Lakers. Junior goalkeeper Amy Bell (New Market, MD/Linganore) recorded 10 saves for the Rams, while Rebecca Heintzman and Karen Eade combined on a shutout for Mercyhurst. Shepherd falls to 4-4, while Mercyhurst improves to 8-1. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Columbia Union for a 5:00 p.m. contest. |
