 McDANIEL EDGES SHEPHERD SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va -- Dawn Fletcher's goal at the 89:04 mark forced overtime and helped lift McDaniel College to a 2-1 win over Shepherd College in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Freshman forward Jamie Barthelemy (Leesburg, VA/Stone Bridge HS) gave the Rams a 1-0 advantage at the 24:43 mark when she scored on an assist from freshman midfielder Kyla Heimburger (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS). The Green Terror forced overtime in the final minute of regulation when Fletcher scored on a header off a corner kick from Christine Mayne. Katie Kirley scored the game-winner in overtime on a feed from Samantha Smith. Senior Amy Ridgely (Westminster, MD/Westminster HS) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Rams. Michelle Mullen had four saves for McDaniel. Shepherd falls to 2-3, while McDaniel improves to 6-1.
