SHEPHERD EDGED BY GALLAUDET

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Johanna Karmgard scored two goals to help lead Gallaudet University to a 3-2 win over Shepherd College in women's soccer action at Gallaudet.

The Bison took a 2-0 lead in the first half on a pair of goals by Karmgard. Stacey Jones assisted on both goals.

Shepherd cut the deficit to 2-1 at the 27:00 mark when Alicia Knuppel (Damascus/Gaithersburg, MD) scored an unassisted goal off a rebound of her own shot.

Knuppel added another unassisted goal at the 51:00 minute mark to tie the game at 2-2.

Katie Spiegel scored the game-winner for Gallaudet on an unassisted tally at the 86:00 mark.

Carrie Crogan (Urbana/Adamstown, MD) recorded eight saves in goal for the Rams, while Julie Peterson stopped 18 shots for the Bison.

Shepherd falls to 1-2, while Gallaudet improves to 2-2.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
