SHEPHERD GAINS 10-0 WIN OVER GALLAUDET SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. --Shepherd College improved to 2-2 on the year with a 10-0 win over Gallaudet University in women's soccer action on Wednesday at Ram Stadium. Shepherd held a 10-0 lead after one half of action. Gallaudet was unable to field a full squad for the second half and opted not to continue. The game was originaly ruled a forfeit, but the NCAA ruled the game had reached a "reasonable point of conclusion". The Rams were led by junior forward Erin Wiliknson (Fairfax Station, VA/W.T. Woodson HS) with three goals and an assist. Also involved in the scoring were freshman midfielder Kyla Heimburger (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) (one goal, three assists), senior midfielder/defender Theresa Ryan (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven HS) (one goal, one assist), and freshman Jamie Barthelemy (Leesburg, VA/Stone Bridge HS) (one goal, one assist). Senior midfielder Amy Vagnoni (Westminster, MD/ Westminster HS), freshman defender Shannon Leighty (Carneys Point, NJ/ Penns Grove HS), freshman midfielder Dana Kaufman (Hammonton, NJ/Oakcrest HS) and sophomore forward Kerry Dikeman (Harpers Ferry, WV/James Wood (VA) HS) each scored a goal. Sophomore defender Cassie Burns (Scarbro, WV/Oak Hill HS) added an assist. Senior goalkeeper Amy Ridgely (Westminster, MD/ Westminster HS) recorded the shutout for the Rams wiithout any saves, while Bison goalie Julie Peterson recorded eight saves. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Seton Hill in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
