SHEPHERD BLANKS COLUMBIA UNION FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

TAKOMA PARK, Md. -- Shepherd College handed Columbia Union a 4-0 loss in women's soccer action at Columbia Union on Tuesday night for its second straight win.

Tammi Meadows (Centreville/Centreville, VA) opened the scoring at the 2:00 mark on an assist from Alicia Knuppel (Damascus/Gaithersburg, MD). Minutes later Sarah Bryan (Park View/Sterling, VA) scored a feed from Ashley Andrews (Clear Spring/Clear Spring, MD) to give the Rams a 2-0 lead at the half.

Shepherd added a pair of goals in the second half on unassisted tally from Theresa Ryan (Loch Raven/Baltimore, MD) and goal by Tara Roberts (Knoxville, MD) on an assist from Knuppel.

Amy Ridgely (Westminster/Westminster, MD) recorded nine saves in goal to record the shutout for the Rams, while Rhonda Watson also registered nine saves for the Pioneers.

Shepherd improves to 4-12, while Columbia Union falls to 1-14.

The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Bridgewater for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
