SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Alicia Knuppel (Damascus/Gaithersburg, MD) scored two goals to lead Shepherd College to a 5-1 win over Columbia Union in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Shepherd also got a goal and an assist from Tara Roberts (Knoxville, MD) and single goals from Ashley Andrews (Clear Spring/Clear Spring, MD) and Shannon Smiles (Williamsport/Hagerstown, MD). Theresa Ryan (Loch Raven/Baltimore, MD) tallied three assists.
Jodi Bryan scored Columbia Union's only goal in the first half.
Shepherd outshot the Pioneers 17-4, and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Amy Ridgely (Westminster/Westminster, MD) recorded three saves in goal for the Rams, while Rhonda Watson had 12 saves for Columbia Union.
Shepherd improves to 2-8, while Columbia Union falls to 1-7. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
