MCCAULEY LIFTS RAMS TO 1-0 WIN OVER CONCORD

ATHENS, W.Va. -- Sophomore midfielder Courtney McCauley (Charles Town, WV/Jefferson HS) scored at the 75:00 mark on a feed from junior forward Jamie Barthelemy (Leesburg, VA/Stone Bridge HS) to lift Shepherd University to a 1-0 win over Concord University in semifinal action of the WVIAC women's soccer tournament at Concord on Friday afternoon. The Rams advance to face Wheeling Jesuit in the finals on Sunday at Wheeling Island Stadium at 11:00 a.m.

Concord outshot the Rams, 13-3, and held a 5-to-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Sophomore Amy Bell (New Market, MD/Linganore HS) put on a stellar performance in goal for the Rams as she recorded 10 saves in the shutout win for the Rams. Sarah Coelho had two saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd improves to 11-9-1, while Concord drops to 12-10.
