SHEPHERD FALLS AT CONCORD

ATHENS, W.Va. -- Shepherd University dropped a 3-1 decision to Concord University in WVIAC women's soccer action on Friday afternoon.

Concord took a 1-0 lead at the 29:26 mark when Leanna Neuner scored on a feed from Allison Saunders.

The Mountain Lions took a 2-0 advantage at the 58:45 mark on an unassisted goal by Jenny Cleland.

Sophomore midfielder Tara Roberts (Knoxville, MD) scored for the Rams at the 65:58 mark on a feed from sophomore midfielder Dana Kaufman (Hammonton, NJ/Oakcrest HS) to cut the lead to 2-1.

A goal by Valerie McGraw assisted by Ashley Hildebrand at the 80:51 mark sealed the win for Concord.

Freshman Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded five saves in goal for the Rams, while Kim Chipps had one save for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd falls to 7-7, 4-4 in WVIAC play, while Concord improves to 7-9, 5-2.. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bluefield (VA) for an 11:00 a.m. contest.
