SHEPHERD BLANKS CARLOW IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University used a balanced attack en route to a 5-0 win over Carlow University in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Sunday.

Sophomore forward Jennifer Corkran (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point HS) scored two goals to lead the Rams. Sophomore Brandie DeWitt (Hagerstown, MD/South Hagerstown HS) and freshmen Whitney Reed (Woodbridge, VA/C. D. Hylton) and Megan Graf (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) also added goals.

Tallying assists for the Rams were senior Katie Moore (Shenandoah Junction, WV/Jefferson HS), junior Lauren Kinnear (Bel Air, MD/Fallston), and freshmen Samantha Zurbuch (Elkins, WV/Elkins) and Katie Dehmer (Bel Air, MD/Fallston).

Junior goalkeeper Amy Bell (New Market, MD/Linganore HS) recorded four saves and had help from sophomore Erica Jones (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge) as the duo combined for the shutoput effort.

Shepherd improves to 1-0 on the year, while Carlow falls to 0-1. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Loch Haven for a 4:00 p.m. matchup
