SHEPHERD BLANKS BLOOMFIELD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Shepherd University blanked Bloomfield College, 5-0, in women's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior forward Maria Brown (Washington, DC/Elizabeth Seton HS) scored the game's first goal at the 7:00 mark on an assist from freshman midfielder Courtney McCauley (Charles Town, WV/Jefferson HS).

Senior midfielder Sarah Bryan (Sterling, VA/Park View HS) scored in the 25th minute on a feed from sophomore forward Jamie Barthelemy (Leesburg, VA/Stone Bridge HS) to make it a 2-0 Ram lead. The Rams took a 3-0 lead into intermission when sophomore midfielder Tara Roberts (Knoxville, MD) at the 42:00 mark with an assist from junior defender/midfielder Erin Kinnear (Bel Air, MD/Fallston HS).

The Rams added two second half tallies on scores by freshman midfielder Lauren Kinnear (Bel Air, MD/ Fallston HS) and Barthelemy.

Freshman Amy Bell (Frederick, MD/Linganore HS) recorded four saves in goal for the Rams, while Daniella Sofianakos had eight saves for Bloomfield.

Shepherd improves to 9-8 on the season. Shepherd's nine wins tie the single season mark set in 2003. The Rams await word on seeding on next week's WVIAC Tournament play. Action is slated to begin on Monday.
