MURRAY LEADS RAMS TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

BUCKHANNON, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) recorded game highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead Shepherd College to a 71-62 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC women's basketball action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday night.

Murray connected on 8-of-20 shots and was 6-for-6 from the free throw line. She also added a game-high five steals.

Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) added 17 points on a 6-of-11 shooting performance, including 3-of-5 from three-point range. Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 10 points and dished out a game-high seven assists, while LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) chipped in with eight rebounds.

Jessie Roeth scored 17 points to lead the Bobcats. Frances Carvajal recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards, while Sarah Grab tossed in 12 points and handed out six assists.

Shepherd improves to 16-9, 11-5 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 11-11, 6-8. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Glenville State for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
