SHEPHERD RUNS PAST WESLEYAN

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) scored 20 points and Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) added 19 to lead Shepherd College to a 90-71 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday night.

Landrum connected on 8-of-12 shots and also recorded a game-high five steals. Murray added game-highs of 14 rebounds (ties career-high), five assists and three blocked shots. Gaynell Reese (Maple Heights, OH/Bedford HS) provided spark off the bench with 14 points on a 6-of-9 shooting effort. Ashana Cowans (Fairfax, VA/ Robinson HS) was also in double figures with 11 points.

Jessie Roeth scored game-high 21 points to lead the Bobcats. She was 9-of-12 from the floor, including a 4-of-6 performance from three-point range. Sarah Grab (11 points) and Julie Bell (10) also posted double digit scoring efforts.

Shepherd improves to 6-5 overall, 2-1 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 6-4, 1-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
