MURRAY EARNS FIRST TEAM ALL-WVIAC HONORS FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT YEAR

PRINCETON, WV -- Senior guard Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) of the Shepherd College women's basketball team was named to the 2003-04 All-WVIAC Women's Basketball Team by the West Virginia Conference. She is only the second athlete in school history (Damian Beane -- Football 1996-99) to earn first team All-Conference honors in all four years. She is also joins former West Liberty great Joanna Bernabei as the only WVIAC women's basketball players to accomplish this feat.

Murray led the Rams in scoring (15.2 ppg), rebounding (8.1 rpg), steals (2.6 spg), and blocked shots (1.0 bpg). Heading into the conference tournament, Murray is ranked second on the all-time Shepherd scoring list with 1,466 career points. She also ranks fifth in rebounding (747) and ninth in assists (236). She is the program's all-time leader in blocked shots (100) and steals (215). Murray also holds SC marks for career three-pointers (158) and single season treys (46 - 2002-03).
