RAMS KNOCK OFF WEST LIBERTY, 72-63
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Freshman guard Tiffany Acker (Mount Solon, VA/Buffalo Gap HS) scored 15 points to lead four Rams in double figures as Shepherd University downed West Liberty, 72-63, in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Monday night.
Freshman forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) added 13 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Rebecca Frece (Springfield, VA/Annandale HS) poured in 12 points on a 4-of-7 shooting effort, while junior forward LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) had 11 points.
Stacey Moore hit on 8-of-14 shots, including 6-of-12 from three-point range, to lead the Toppers with a game-high 22 points. Leighann Fry added 12 points, while Lena Kalvans tied Harkins for game-high rebounding honors with seven.
Shepherd improves to 3-7, 2-1 in conference action, while West Liberty falls to 2-5, 0-2. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Salem International for a 5:15 p.m. conference matchup.
