WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Katie Martin scored a game-high 14 points to lead West Liberty to a 50-48 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action on Monday night.
The Rams were led by Makia Staves (Bishop McNamara/Ft. Washington, MD) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg/Gettysburg, PA) scored 11 points off the bench, while Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) added nine rebounds.
Martin was the only Lady Topper in double figures in the low scoring affair. Jaana Kotova tied Staves for game-high rebounding honors with 10 boards.
The Rams fall to 6-4, 2-1 in conference action, while West Liberty improves to 7-1, 1-0. Shepherd returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Salem International for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
