SETCAVAGE LIFTS WHEELING PAST SHEPHERD
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Sarah Setcavage scored a game-high 41 points to lead Wheeling Jesuit University to an 82-72 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC women's basketball at Wheeling on Saturday.
Setcavage connected on 13-of-20 shots from the floor and sunk 15-of-23 free throw attempts. She also recorded game-highs of 14 rebounds and five steals.
Katie Repicky added 15 points and Jade Eckleberry had 11 for the Lady Cardinals.
Senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/ Tabb HS) led the Rams with 15 points. Freshman guard Krissy Grosselin (Dayton, OH/ Ramstein (Germany) HS) added 11 points, while sophomore guard Tiffany Acker (Mount Solon, VA/Buffalo Gap HS) had 10. Sophomore guard Molly Land (Hope, IN/Hauser HS) and senior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/ Seneca Valley HS) had nine points each. Fisher also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
The Rams fall to 5-5, 1-1 in conference action, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 9-1, 1-0. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Liberty for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
