RAMS RALLY PAST WEST CHESTER

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Shepherd University to a 61-54 win over West Chester University in women's basketball action on Wednesday night at the Butcher Athletic Center.

Trailing throughout much of the second half, the Rams took the lead for good at 47-46 on a pair of free throws by Fisher at the 6:52 mark. The Rams hit 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch and closed the game on a 14-8 run to capture the victory.

Freshman forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) added nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds, while senior guard Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) added nine points and nine rebounds. Sophomore center Danielle Costello (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/FCC) and senior guard Anna Lashway (Guilford, VT/ Brattleboro Union HS) each contributed eight points.

Kiesha Mack scored a game-high 17 points to pace the Golden Rams. Justine Pfaff added nine points and seven rebounds, while Staci O'Byle had seven points and 10 rebounds.

The Rams improve to 2-6, while West Chester drops to 6-5. Shepherd returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Wheeling Jesuit for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
