SHEPHERD RUNS PAST UDC SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) scored 23 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead Shepherd College to a 71-63 win over UDC in women's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday night. Murray moved past Michele Taylor (1,388 points, 1984-88) into second place on the SC all-time scoring list. Murray now has 1,393 career points. Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) added 18 points on a 7-of-10 shooting effort, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) had a nice all-around game with seven points, six rebounds, and a game-high eight assists. LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added 11 rebounds to go along with four points. TiNisha Townsend scored a game-high 31 points to lead UDC. Ronke Adedoyin added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Keir Dargon had nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Shepherd improves to 14-9, while UDC falls to 11-13. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. conference matchup. |
