SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Ashley van Norden (Williamsport/Hagerstown, MD) scored a team-high 15 points to lead Shepherd College to a 72-55 win over UDC in women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Friday night.
The junior guard connected on 6-of-7 shots from the floor and was 2-of-2 from three-point range.
Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) and Lindsay Stewart (Hampshire/Romney, WV) each added 13 points and six rebounds. Brianne Hamilton (Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) had a game-highs seven rebounds and five assists, while Lena Moore (The Newport School (North Carolina A&T)/Washington, DC) came off the bench to add 11 points. Moore connected all of her shots -- sinking 4-of-4 field goals and 3-of-3 free throws.
UDC was led by Katrina Green with 17 points and Ti-Nisha Townsend with 14. Townsend also recorded a game-high six steals.
Shepherd improves to 3-5, while UDC falls to 2-6. The Rams are idle until December 30 when they travel to Marshall University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
